It’s important to note that this system only includes crash reports after 2003. If your accident occurred before that see the section below.

Requesting a Crash Report in Maine by Mail

If your car accident happened before 2003 or isn’t on record in the online database, you will need to make a manual request. In Maine, manual requests are only different from online database requests because an employee at the records department of the police station responsible for filing your crash report manually looks through physical crash reports to find yours.

If your crash report is found manually it will either be emailed, mailed, or faxed to you depending on your preference. The fee for a manual request is also $10 per report. This can be paid via credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) or by check. You can click here and fill out as much information as you can to make a manual request.

In addition to these details, you can find out anything else you need to know about requesting a crash report in Maine on their website here. Additionally, you can contact Maine the State Police Traffic Division at (207) 624-8944 or by email at [email protected]
